Position overview

Support Youth With Purpose.

This is therapeutic mentoring, not traditional mentoring. Mentors provide structured, relationship-based support to help youth address behavioral concerns, strengthen emotional regulation, practice healthy communication, develop accountability, and make positive decisions.

Youth may be involved with the foster care or juvenile justice systems, or live with their families and need consistent guidance, supportive structure, and advocacy.

Work setting: One-to-one support in private-home environments and approved community settings, as appropriate to each youth's service plan. This is not a group-home, congregate-care, or office-based position.

Core responsibilities

What You'll Do

  • Establish strengths-based relationships and maintain clear, healthy professional boundaries.
  • Follow individualized therapeutic mentoring, behavioral-support, and skill-development strategies.
  • Model and coach communication, conflict resolution, emotional regulation, accountability, and responsible decision-making.
  • Collaborate respectfully with parents, caregivers, case managers, educators, social workers, probation personnel, and other authorized professionals.
  • Complete timely, objective service documentation and report material concerns through established supervisory channels.
  • Promote youth safety, dignity, engagement, and progress toward identified goals.
